Our goal is to one day reach the point where we can offer to pay our authors for their wonderful submissions!

But at this stage, we are unfortunately not in a position to do so. We are in the early stages of this magazine concept, and we are just two budding authors balancing multiple jobs with our dreams of pursuing writing careers.

We aren’t doing this for money, but because we truly love genre fiction and think that it deserves a place in the Australian literary industry, where it is all too often forgotten. We also know firsthand how hard it is to find your footing as a writer, especially when you have little to no experience.

We are working on a few ideas for how we can pay our authors in future — including selling physical prints of magazine issues, offering custom hand-painted pet portraits in the style of our covers, and of course accepting small, friendly donations. At this time we have no intention of charging an entry fee, which cannot be said for most competitions and literary magazines in the country.

Please keep in mind that we will never take your work for granted — a lot of time and effort goes into receiving, editing, and publishing submissions, and we do all of this out of the kindness of our hearts and a deep passion for writing and genre ❤
